Forskolin is a natural extract derived from a plant called Coleus Forskohlii. 10% Forskolin is a widely used specification in the market.
Forskolin is an active natural labdane-type diterpenoid. Colforsin (Forskolin, Coleonol, Colforsin) is a eukaryotic adenylyl cyclase (AC) activator widely present in a variety of cell types, commonly used to increase cAMP levels in cells in physiological studies.

Forskolin activates adenylate cyclase (AC) directly by acting on the catalytic subunit. AC catalyzes the conversion of ATP to generate 3', 5'-cAMP, and pyrophosphate. cAMP is an important signal carrier in cells. It is integral to the proper physiological response to hormones, neurotransmitters, and other extracellular signals.
