What is Epicatechin Extract?
Epicatechin Powder is a purified ingredient extracted from green tea. (-)-Epicatechin (EC), one of the main active components of catechins, has various biological activities, including antioxidant, analgesic, cardioprotective, and anti-inflammatory effects. EC is the 2R, 3R stereoisomer of catechin. Like catechin, it is a potent antioxidant that inhibits cyclooxygenase and has a strong effect on phospholipid bilayers.
