What is FSMA PCQI Certification?
FSMA PCQI certification is the preventive controls for human food course launched by the Food Safety Preventive Control Alliance (FSPCA). It is a standard training course approved by the US FDA.
Qualified individual is a personnel who successfully complete the development and application of risk-based preventive control measures, and who have completed training at least equivalent to training received under appropriate standard courses recognized by the FDA, or who obtained through work experience in the development and application of food safety system.
Benefits of FSMA PCQI Certification in QC Control
The goal of FSMA PCQI certification is to enable QC personnel to have a better understanding of the good manufacturing practice (GMP), hazard analysis and risk-based human food prevention and control measures in the process of production, processing, packaging, and storage of human food and prevent foodborne illnesses through the safe preparation of food products for human consumption.
A PCQI plays paramount and crucial role in the overall food safety management and control system in a food processing enterprise. The FDA requires that food facilities should have one or more qualified individuals who hold the professional knowledge to make their products stable, safe and effective and understand the processes to identify, evaluate, control and validate any associated risk.
FSMA PCQI Certificate
Qualified individual who has successful completion of this course and meet the requirements of "Personnel with Qualification for Preventive Control Measures" will obtain the PCQI certificate. Approved by the leading lecturer of FSPCA, the American Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) and the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI) are responsible for the issuance of the certificate of participants who have completed the accredited "FSPCA Human Food Prevention and Control" course. It is a basic requirement for food companies exporting to the United States to arrange for relevant food safety staff to obtain the PCQI certificate.
