1. Wash, dry, and pulverize high-quality peony bark, then pass through a 60-mesh sieve.

2. Place the pretreated peony bark in a steam distillation extractor and add a mixed aqueous solution of 5% sodium chloride and 1.5% glacial acetic acid. Soak at room temperature for 1 hour, then heat to boiling and steam distill for 3 hours. Collect the distillate, place it in a 0°C cold water bath, and oscillate it on a magnetic oscillator at a frequency of 2000 rpm for 2 hours.

3. Centrifuge and collect the crystals. Dry them in a cool, dark place to obtain paeonol crystals with a paeonol content of 88.48%.

4. Mix the paeonol crystals with 60% ethanol, heat to 70°C, stir to fully dissolve, and then ultrasonicate them for 1 hour at a frequency of 25 kHz and a power of 500 W.

5. The product was frozen for crystallization, filtered, and air-dried to obtain a paeonol finished product with a paeonol content of 99.25%.
