Do You Know the Secret of Hesperidin?
Hesperidin 90% powder is largely isolated from the rinds of citrus plants such as oranges and lemons, a plant pigment with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Oranges, grapefruit, lemons, and tangerines all contain hesperidin, which is also available in supplement form.
What is Hesperidin Used for?
Hesperidin is thought to be beneficial to blood vessels. Some studies show that It is used as a natural remedy for many health problems, including allergies, hemorrhoids, high blood pressure, hot flashes, hay fever, sinusitis, symptoms related to menopausal changes, PMS, and varicose veins. Hesperidin is also said to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation and help defeat cancer.

Is Hesperidin Beneficial to Your Health?
Based on available research studies, here are some hesperidin’s uses and potential benefits:
▲ Can Promote Heart Health
Consumption of citrus fruits is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Several clinical trials figuring out the effects of hesperidin flavonoid on markers of cardiovascular disease have produced mixed results. Flavonoids have been shown to improve lipid metabolism and appear to reduce LDL cholesterol levels. This ability, combined with their inhibition of oxidation, means that consuming them can prevent the hardening/thickening of arteries, known as atherosclerosis. Hesperidin appears to slow down blood clotting and increase the risk of bleeding if taken with blood-thinning medications, so it's paramount to use it with caution if blood clotting is a problem. One study found that adults who supplemented with hesperidin significantly improved endothelial function after eating a high-fat meal, compared with those who took a placebo. Another study found that drinking orange juice containing hesperidin daily for a month lowered blood pressure and improved endothelial function in participants.

▲ May Help Protect Cognitive Health
Based on a 2019 report, there is evidence that hesperidin extract is neuroprotective, meaning it can help protect the function of nerve tissues from damage resulted from various drugs and prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and multiple sclerosis. Certain small clinical trials have found that this phenolic compound protects cognitive function in healthy older adults because it protects the brain and neurons from oxidative stress and inflammation. This can improve cerebral blood flow, cognition, and memory.

▲ May Help Treat Hemorrhoids
In a 2015 study in Techniques in Coloproctology, a supplement containing a combination of bioflavonoids (hesperidin, diosmin, and troxerutin) was found to help treat hemorrhoids. In this study, 134 people with acute hemorrhoids received either the hesperidin-diosmin-troxerutin combination or a placebo for 12 days. People taking bioflavonoids had substantially less pain and bleeding than those taking a placebo. The proportion of people reporting persistent swelling and thrombosis also dropped significantly. After six days, those taking the bioflavonoids also required less oral pain medication.
