What is Silybin Phospholipid Complex and Its Advantages over Silymarin?
Silybin Phospholipids are the combination of silybin and phosphatidylcholine at the molecular level. The production process is used to link silybin to phosphatidylcholine, an important component of cell membranes, to form a compound that readily crosses cell membranes, enhances absorption, and is more potent than conventional silybin.
As we know, silymarin consists of 3 flavonoid isomers: silybin, silydianin, and silychristin. Among them, silybin accounts for the majority of 50-70% of silymarin, and is also the most biologically active ingredient.
However, flavonoid molecules are difficult to absorb because they are insoluble in water and easily destroyed by gastric juices. Therefore, scientists converted it into a water-soluble phytosome form that easily penetrates cell membranes.
Using science and technology, silybin is formulated in the form of phytosomes (Phosphocomplex - Silybin Phosphatidylcholine), which can improve water solubility and pass through biofilms. At the same time, the phosphocomplex helps protect the active substance from destruction by digestive juices, enzymes, and intestinal bacteria.
